Operational Care

Inspect the cannula regularly for signs of wear, kinks, or discolouration. Replace immediately if damaged or compromised.
DO NOT attempt to clean or reuse the cannula beyond its recommended usage period. It is designed for single-patient use and should be replaced every 2 to 4 weeks, or as directed by your healthcare provider.
Ensure that the tubing is not stretched or pulled, which could restrict oxygen flow or damage the cannula.
Avoid sharp bends or tight coils in the tubing, especially around furniture or bedding, to maintain consistent oxygen delivery.
Store in a cool, dry place when not in use, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
DO NOT use petroleum-based products (like Vaseline) around the nose while wearing the cannula, as this may degrade the material.

FAQs

Will using a 25-foot nasal cannula with my Philips EverFlo oxygen concentrator affect my oxygen delivery?

The Philips EverFlo oxygen concentrator is designed to support tubing lengths up to 50 feet, including a standard nasal cannula. Using a 25-foot nasal cannula will generally not affect oxygen delivery, especially at low to moderate flow rates (up to 5 LPM).

To ensure proper performance, make sure the tubing is free of kinks and blockages. If you notice a drop in oxygen output or feel short of breath, consult your healthcare provider or equipment supplier.
